Welcome to CrossFit MHS

We are a small military affiliate with several groups of athletes hitting the main site Workout of the Day (WOD) on different schedules. We offer a “Skills Day” each week that rotates through the Nine Fundamental Movements and other CrossFit specific skills. Please contact us if you’re interested in joining one of our groups or want to be added to the email distro for the “Skills Day.”
CrossFit MHS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the fitness of our participants. We received our official affiliation on October 2, 2008. Special thanks to Jimi Letchford of CrossFit Laguna Beach for helping us move towards affiliation!
“Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.”
“The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.”
- Excerpt from “What is CrossFit?”
We train using CrossFit methodologies which are constantly varied functional movements, executed at high intensity. We train to increase work capacity across broad time and modal domains. This type of training develops the ten physical skills that make up fitness: Cardiovascular/Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Accuracy, and Balance.
If this kind of approach to fitness and life appeals to you check out our participation requirements and join us!
